More Than a Statistic: She Was Someone’s Everything

Being pregnant brings a mix of emotions—excitement, nerves, and a little bit of fear. We worry about the baby, the delivery, and how life will change afterward. But most of us never ask the question: Will I survive this?

We live in America—a country with advanced medical care and modern technology—so it seems like something we shouldn’t have to worry about. But the reality is heartbreaking: mothers in the U.S. are still dying from complications during pregnancy, childbirth, and in the critical weeks after. In fact, about one woman dies every two minutes from pregnancy-related causes in this country. (Learn more about maternal mortality here.)

At NayaCare, we’re working to shine a light on this growing crisis. These aren’t just statistics. They’re real women, real families, and real stories. Our mission is to honor them, raise awareness, and help prevent more families from facing this kind of loss.
